Jump Inc Beverley Review

Jump Inc in Beverley, East Yorkshire is a huge space of 2000 square feet with an inflatable playground. It is located in Beverley’s Flemingate retail park and was once run by Inflata Nation. It has recently been reopened as Jump Inc. This venue is home to the UK’s first double-decker inflatable. Flemingate is a small out of town outlet area with shops, restaurants and a cinema, it is REALLY cheap to park at.

Booking in advance is highly recommended as their sessions often sell out, especially at weekends. If you have younger kids you might want to try and book the 9 am or 10 am sessions as they are a lot quieter than later in the day.

In the past, you could bounce in any old pair of socks. Everyone is now required to wear ‘hybrid socks’. These hybrid socks are specifically designed for your safety and should be worn at all times. Socks from other parks are not permitted, their socks start from £2.50 a pair and they are yours to keep and reuse.

For each session, you line up at the entrance into the inflatables. You are then given a safety briefing and away you go. If you don’t want to take part there is a cafe up some stairs that looks down over the inflatables, this has free WI-FI. Children 5 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. You can sit in the cafe if your child is older, although all under 15s must be accompanied on-site by an adult.

The area in the photo below is for children age 4 and under. This is a much smaller part but it is rarely busy. Although children age 4 and under can go in the bigger section it isn’t advisable during peak busy times as I’ve never been when the bigger kids aren’t running amock. I’ve stopped attempting to accompany my son as it all gets too much for me but plenty of adults do join in. There are special toddler sessions for children under 6 which are perfect for younger kids.

The course has some really awesome and super fast slides. At the bottom, there is a ball pit which seems to vary as to the number of balls. If it’s full it can take quite some effort to wade through.

There is also a fun two-lane obstacle course. We normally go around together although plenty of people race against each other.

Other things to play on include a steep wall you can try and run up to ring a bell or you can try knocking your opponent over at Duel. There are some fun bouncy bubbles and some biff bash type poles. Although their website states that there’s no danger of injuries you may get bruises and bumps. We rarely come out unscathed. It’s better to wear long sleeves but it does get pretty hot in there.

It’s fun for my son as he’s starting to move out of the age where he wants to go to soft play and instead would much rather visit somewhere like this. I wish we had this when I was a kid!
