Mission Out Outdoor Adventure Things To Do

Now open is Mission Out which is an outdoor adventure venue aimed at families with children from the age of 6 to 14. Mission Out is located near Tingley in West Yorkshire, just off the M62. They are located at what will be the Tingley Garden Centre which is a twin to the Tong garden centre also in West Yorkshire. They will be opening a separate indoor and outdoor play area here later in the year.

The best thing about Mission Out is that you pay the one admission fee and then you can go on everything there as much as you like. This makes it one of the best value low and high ropes I’ve ever come across.

Your visit starts at the obstacle course. We missed this out to start off with though as we’d heard the ropes course queue can get pretty long so we booked the 9:30 am arrival and headed there first. Luckily we didn’t queue for long but it had built up to an approx 40-50 minute wait later on.

There’s certainly enough there to entertain your kids for a good few hours. We did almost everything and left after almost three hours. There are picnic tables dotted around and also seats here and there which meant there were plenty of opportunities for a rest.

We’d have stayed longer but they didn’t have any electric vehicle charging points so we had to find somewhere else to charge. Their website states that they have 55 EV charging points which when we were there they didn’t yet have!

There are plenty of swings dotted around with some fun designs so they’re not just all standard swings. There is also a small lake in the centre of the venue which has pully bridge crossings and also two rafts where you can move yourselves around using a pole.

In the centre of the photo below is the Tower Jump Pillow. You have to prove you can jump from the bottom platform and then you can try the middle and top platforms. My son didn’t want to give this one a go.

They also have some really fun slides. There’s a small tube slide, then 4 bumpy slides where you can race your family and friends. They also have another two long tube slides. There are three ways back up with steps, a rope and a cargo net.

You will notice that the land around the site is mostly soil. They have planted wildflower seeds and grass seeds so I would imagine it’ll look lovely next year. There is also a small den building area at the bottom of the slides.

Located all the way around the rope courses is a crazy golf course. They have the clubs, balls and scorecards laid out so you just go and help yourself. We went straight on after the low ropes and although it was busy by now we were virtually the only ones playing. The course has 9 holes.

The rope courses have a minimum height of 1.3m. Children can go around by themselves or with an adult (height and weight restrictions apply). The course has a continuous belay system which my son struggled with a bit which in turn stressed him out a little. Most people seemed to manage it OK though. The course is more challenging than the low ropes we’ve come across at Go Ape.

Once you have been around the low ropes course you can then choose to go up a level to the high ropes or finish your session. If you want to go around the low ropes course again you need to rejoin the queue.

They also have a really fun sandpit area with buckets, chutes and pully systems. If you are hungry they have a snack hut where they sell breakfast sandwiches, cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets and fries as well as a selection of snacks, refreshments, slushies and ice creams. There is also an indoor pizzeria where you can purchase pizzas to eat in or take away.
