Xscape in Castleford, West Yorkshire is a large venue with a variety of things to do. One thing they’re not short of is crazy golf courses. There are two dedicated venues at Xscape, one offers glow in the dark crazy golf and the other is Volcano Falls Adventure golf which has two 18 hole courses.
Volcano Falls Adventure Golf Review
Both of the courses are themed with one being the T-Rex trail and the other being Volcano valley. You can choose to book both or you can choose your favourite. Prebooking is not necessary and you can just turn up.
We played the T-Rex adventure golf course that is more of a test of skill rather than avoiding objects on each hole. They are adventure golf, not crazy golf! Most of their holes have a small slope to them and they advertise themselves as being windmill free. Some of the holes are quite challenging to try and stay to par or even play under par.
Although it is quite dark there are lots of strategically placed lights so you can still see where you are going. The theming of the two 18 hole courses is excellent and they have gone to a lot of effort to make the courses look fun.
You certainly feel like you’ve stepped back in time with large dinosaurs including a T-Rex that moves and makes lots of sounds. There was even a thunderstorm while we were playing that had other fun sound effects.
It took us around 40 minutes to complete the course. We have promised our son that we will return to play the Volcano course so I will update this post once we have played it. One thing to note is that if you have a buggy with you you may want to find somewhere safe to leave it. The space between the holes is tight and there isn’t really room to put one.
They also have a cafe where you can purchase food and drinks including cocktails. They can even host your child’s birthday party.
